Terms and Conditions
Tutoring Services
Banksia Learning provides private tutoring and academic coaching services for secondary school students. Sessions may be conducted in person or online via Google Meet.
Bookings and Payment
Payment is due immediately following sessions or initiated on the same day and may be made via cash or direct bank transfer. Where payment is not received, all outstanding fees must be settled before any further sessions take place.
Banksia Learning reserves the right to pause or cancel future sessions where payment remains outstanding and to require payment in advance for future sessions.
Cancellation and Missed Sessions
At least 12 hours notice is requested for cancellations or rescheduling by either party where possible.

If a session is cancelled or rescheduled by the client with less than 12 hours notice, a 50% charge of the session fee will apply.

Where a student arrives or joins after the scheduled start time but within the 15-minute grace period, the session will proceed, but will still end at the originally scheduled time.

If a student has not arrived for an in-person session, or has not joined an online session 15 minutes or more after the scheduled start time and no prior notice has been provided, the session will be considered a no-show and will not proceed.
No-show sessions will be charged at 50% of the session fee, consistent with the late cancellation and rescheduling policy. Repeated no-shows may result in future sessions requiring full payment in advance.

If a session is cancelled by Banksia Learning due to illness, family responsibilities or unforeseen circumstances, the session will be rescheduled if possible. Where payment has already been made, a credit will be applied to a future session.
Online Sessions
Online sessions are conducted via Google Meet. Clients are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection, suitable device and allowing enough time to log in to the session for the start time.

Sessions must take place from a shared or supervised space within the home. A parent or legal guardian is expected to be within earshot or reasonably available for the duration of the session.

Banksia Learning does not assume responsibility for supervision or duty of care during online sessions beyond the delivery of educational instruction.
In-Person Sessions
In-person sessions occur at the clients home, a public library or other suitable learning space. Banksia Learning does not assume responsibility for supervision or duty of care.
Where sessions are held in the clients home, a parent or legal guardian must be present in the home for the duration of the session. In-home sessions must take place in a shared, open area of the home, such as a living room or dining area that is safe, respectful and conducive to learning.
Banksia Learning reserves the right to discontinue a session if the learning environment is unsuitable, including but not limited to exposure to individuals who are smoking, vaping, or engaging in other behaviours that interfere with the session at the discretion of the educator.

Where sessions take place in a public location, a parent or legal guardian must remain on site or in close proximity for the duration of the session.

Banksia Learning reserves the right to decline or discontinue any in-person session where these conditions are not met. If a session is discontinued for these reasons, the session will be considered delivered and fees will remain payable.
Student Conduct and Participation
Effective learning requires respectful behaviour and student participation.

Banksia Learning is not responsible for behaviour management or supervision during sessions. Responsibility for behaviour remains with the parent or legal guardian.

Where behaviour significantly disrupts the session or makes learning ineffective, the session may be paused or discontinued. Fees remain payable for the scheduled session.

Progress is dependent on student participation, practice outside of sessions and external factors beyond the tutor's control. While all reasonable care is taken, Banksia Learning does not guarantee specific academic results.
Digital Products and Printables
Banksia Learning may offer digital learning resources, including printables, either for purchase or as complimentary materials made available through email subscription or other promotional offers.

All digital products and printables remain the intellectual property of Banksia Learning and are licensed for personal use by the individual purchaser or subscriber only. These materials may not be shared, distributed, copied, resold or reproduced without prior written permission.

Access to complimentary printables may be conditional upon subscribing to an email list and may be withdrawn, updated, or modified at any time.

The provision of digital products and printables is separate from tutoring services and does not guarantee availability or inclusion as part of any tutoring package.
